Yesterday, we travelled to the capital city of India, New Delhi and visited several important landmarks there. Today, we are going to visit the majestic Taj Mahal situated in Agra, the first place that any tourist would like to see when visiting this country. A monument for Photography Connoisseurs, Taj Mahal literally means “Crown of the Palaces”.

The Taj Mahal, an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra, was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being “the jewel of Muslim art” in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage. The Taj Mahal attracts a minimum of 7–8 million visitors a year and in 2007, it was declared a winner of the New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) initiative.
